CIK-DC: A New Antigen Bank

In June 2009, BGWICC will be unveiling it’s newest therapy: CIK-DC (cytokine-induced killer cells combined with dendritic cells). On its own, CIK is still an excellent tool against cancer: it fights and kills cancer cells systemically, boosts and restores the body’s own immune system (especially after the harsh, depleting effects of chemotherapy), and prevents metastasis and recurrence. What do DC cells do? DC cells give CIK a boost that allows CIK to more effectively target the location of cancer cells, and thus killing the cancer cells. Cultured from umbilical cord blood, the DC cells cultured at BGWICC labs are especially potent at assisting CIK cells to perform their job of protecting the body while killing cancer cells. Wednesday, 08 April 2009 11:17

This year, the number of international patients admitted to Beijing Great Wall International Cancer Center (BGWICC) is expected to nearly double in number. This is being credited to the leadership of Dr. Qi Niu, their Harvard-trained head physician, the hospital’s improved foreign language services (English, Japanese, German, Cantonese), the addition of American staff, a completely renovated website, word-of-mouth, and their innovative therapies. News of BGWICC is penetrating new markets as the hospital’s international department receives inquiries from Bhutan, Egypt, Eastern Europe, and Latin America.

In 2009, BGWICC plans to triple the international department to meet the demands of inquiries that are coming from foreign countries. Within the first quarter of this year alone, inquiries about the hospital’s services have grown over 50% from previous years. Currently, they are hiring and will continue to hire candidates who have a strong command of foreign languages, and can work with international patients on a variety of levels. This year, BGWICC will expand their marketing to patients in Europe, the Middle East, United States, and Canada.
